Getting to a scheduled medical visit can be challenging when driving is not an option. Non-emergency medical transportation, or NEMT, helps people arrange a ride to care that does not require an ambulance.

Who may need a medical ride?

Older adults, people with limited mobility, and passengers using wheelchairs may need transportation to appointments. Lighthouse Medical Transportation provides ambulatory and wheelchair rides in Greater Lansing and surrounding communities.

Trips to discuss with our team

We help passengers travel to hospitals, clinics, dialysis appointments, therapy sessions, and other scheduled medical visits. Tell us the pickup address, destination, appointment time, and any mobility needs. For recurring appointments, share the dates and times you have in mind.

How to request a ride

Call or text (517) 280-5862 to discuss availability and trip details. You can also follow the MobiMate app steps on our Request a Ride page. If someone else is arranging the ride, please have the rider name and a contact number ready.

Payment and coverage depend on your arrangements. Check with your health plan or transportation coordinator about any benefits that may apply to your trip.
